In 2014 Ansons Consulting was commissioned to develop a Travel Plan for Kingussie Court House in Scotland. At that time planning permission had just been granted to extend and convert the building into a new office space for Highland Council employees, who were to relocate from various offices in and around Kingussie. The building was also designed to provide the public with access to a range of Highland Council services.
One of the planning conditions associated with the development of Kingussie Court House was that a travel plan be prepared with the aim of encouraging sustainable modes of transport to and from the site. Consequently, the travel plan focussed on improving the accessibility of the site by different forms of transport for commuters, residents and other visitors.
The Travel Plan we developed was approved by the relevant planning authority without amendment, thereby helping to streamline the building consent and redevelopment processes and ensure the new tenants and their visitors now have every opportunity to benefit from sustainable access to the site.
