Director John Pinkard has carried out review of business travel policies and procedures for a variety of organisations, including the City of Edinburgh Council, NHS Borders and Historic Scotland. The broad purpose of these commissions was to identify the desirability of streamlining and improving business travel policies and practices, and more generally, to devise a clear strategy to disseminate business travel policy and best practice advice to all staff, particularly in view of cost and carbon savings that can be achieved through this process.
John has also worked with a variety of other organisations, including Bombardier Aerospace, as well as the UK Government’s Ordnance Survey, NHS Business Services Authority and the Department for International Development, to review current business travel and/or fleet management and operations with a view to identifying a set of measures that had strong potential to reduce business travel and/or fleet costs and emissions. These projects commenced with an up-front presentation about good practice, which was followed by a workshop involving key stakeholders from each organisation. Subsequent telephone support was provided to each organisation on a needs basis.
