Measuring the mobility impacts of a housing development

In 2008 John Pinkard directed a study that considered the mobility impacts of a housing development in Edinburgh. Research methods included a survey, interviews, a literature review as well as an audit of existing transport services, facilities and infrastructure. The development was designed to encourage low levels of car ownership and use by its residents, and this research provided fresh evidence that – relative to population averages for Edinburgh – it has been successful in achieving this and related carbon-reduction goals.
