Support – Smarter Choices, Smarter Places programme

Support – Smarter Choices, Smarter Places programme

During 2014-15 Ansons Consulting was appointed to support the implementation of Paths for All’s £5m Smarter Choices, Smarter Places grant scheme, which promoted behaviour change initiatives to increase active and sustainable travel at a local authority level. Through generating mode shift, it is expected the programme will help cut Scotland’s carbon emissions, improve air quality, reverse the trend towards sedentary lifestyles and tackle health inequalities.

Having been involved in designing, delivering and evaluating the impact of a wide range of similar projects in the past, Director John Pinkard was very well placed to provide support to grant recipients. This included the provision of advice on preparing applications, the effectiveness of different measures, resources required as well as monitoring and evaluation.
